Don Harrell has nearly 50 years of experience, over 40 as an attorney and over 8 as a CPA. He has focused his legal career on transactional, estate, trust and asset protection matters for high-net-worth individuals and entities. He regularly acts as a consultant to other lawyers in large complex transactional, estate and litigation matters. Over the years he practiced in the areas of commercial, business and non-profit organizations, securities, tax, estate, trust and asset protection law.
Don was born in Wichita, Kansas in 1948. He received his B.A. from Westminster College in 1970, his CPA from Pennsylvania in 1973, and his J.D. from Duquesne University School of Law in 1978. He is admitted to both the Pennsylvania and Florida Bars. Don is also admitted to the United States Tax Court, the United States District Courts for the Middle District of Florida and the Western District of Pennsylvania, the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Eleventh Circuit, and the United States Supreme Court. Don is a member of the American, Florida and Sarasota County Bar Associations.
Don has been active in the community in performing pro bono services for a community health center for indigents, a shelter for abused horses, schools, disabled veterans, and teachers, and coaching high school basketball. Don is a principal and co-founder of the firm.
